It is a respite, like an oasis. That is the story behind Balcony Oasis.
Balcony Oasis (key of A flat major), begins with an expressively delicate A-theme; the right-hand melody is alluring and eloquent. The B-theme develops into a dramatic use of chords, dynamic chamges, and harmonies. When the A-theme returns, the music transports the listener back to the original serenity of the balcony scenery. With plenty of opportunity for musical interpretation, this piece is a joy to learn and play.
