Cecilia Damstrom (b. 1988) is a Finland-Swedish composer and pianist with a rich production of music for choir and for chamber ensembles. Her piece for male voices, At Teasdale's, gives in three short, concentrated movements life to the American poet Sara Teasdale's beautiful poems about the sea, the night and love: At Sea, At Night and At Midnight.
Cecilia Damstrom's At Teasdele's is the winner of the 1st prize in Linkopings Studentsangare Composition Award 2016: "For an artistic and through-composed suite in three movements that congenially interprets and conveys Sara Teasdale's exquisite and expressive lyrics. The composer utilises the male choir's richness and variety of possibilities, with a substantial feeling for the male voice conditions. With its personal musical language At Teasdale's has a great opportunity to appeal to both singers, and the audience.".
