In the music, I've expressed my impression of a raging fire, which is external but also internal, it's in the nature but also in the spirit. --Chen Yi a departure for the composer from her typical joyful music...explosive energy and even some anger... Contrasting this was piano turned artillery, lobbing 'shots' of struck chords over the bow of the audience. --Andrew Druckenbrod, Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.
