Anima Sola Concert Band - Digital Sheet Music

My piece, Anima Sola, is named after the Roman Catholic and Latin American folk tradition's Depiction of the Anima Sola, which translated means the "lonely Soul" in Latin. The Anima Sola represents a soul (usually depicted as a woman in chains) in purgatory, waiting to be freed from this state of temporary existance. The piece was originally wrote with happiness in mind with me trying to go for a happier, more lighter sound in the music. But as I wrote it, the sound became more somber and would then turn into what would eventually be named Anima Sola. I named it Anima Sola because I felt that the piece represented purgatory, where you feel stuck and lost with no idea of what to do to get out of your current situation. But with purgatory you also have that feeling of hope, hope that this purgatory will end one day, and hope that one day you will eventually be free.
