Anton Diabelli (1781 - 1858) hat neben 12 Messen auch viele Gradualien und Offertorien geschrieben. Im Offertorium "Angelus ad pastores ait" hat er den weihnachtlichen Text auf großartige Weise musikalsich ausgedeutet: den Verkündigungsengel durch ein Sopransolo, die Hirten durch einen dreistimmigen Männerchor und das Alleluia dann mächtig durch den ganzen Chor beschlossen.
