Allegro Furioso was written specifically with BSP instruments in mind, however you can choose instruments with similar sound qualities/characteristics. While suggested BSP model #'s are listed below, the conductor must study the score for recommended timbre qualities.

This piece explores varying degrees of textures and timbres, beginning with the selection of instruments to be used. The desired products give the best representation of the sound qualities that I had in mind when composing. The piece was premiered with the 2010 McKendree University Percussion Ensemble.

Performing at the bottom rung (bar) of the triangle gives the overtones that I had in mind. Performing the tambourine upside-down (head facing down), on the rim, gives the short and dry sound for which I am striving in the overall texture. Thumb/finger rolls give a different character than shake rolls, however shake rolls are also indicated (therefore, both are NOT interchangeable).
