All Creatures Concert Band - Sheet Music

Using three hymn tunes commonly used in modern Christian churches for singing the doxology, arranger Andrews has created a powerful band work that will afford your group many opportunities to create rich and powerful musical moments. The piece opens with a fanfare that will be heard several times throughout the work linking section to section. The fanfare leads into a mixed-meter arrangement of “All Creatures of our God and King.” “The Old 100th Psalm Tune” soon sounds in the middle instruments, horns and saxes and, after some development, is followed by a restatement of the first theme in minor mode. Finally, the melody to “Thomas Tallis’ Canon” is first heard in the chimes and is followed by an extended crescendo, as the canon builds, layer upon layer, climaxing in a full ensemble chorale-like setting of the theme. The work concludes with a rousing Alleluia.
