Nathaniel, a lovable but scatter-brained, late-for-work shepherd, bumps into two of those travelers, Joanna and Simone, as he rushes to take his shift at watching the flock. The other shepherds (his sisters Miriam and Abigail), along with Judah, are waiting for Nathaniel--late once again--to arrive.
