Ah, but shall i not long for you?
Shall I, in obeisance to your scruples ,
then banish my love to a dark cell and
express not its insistent call?
It is you who have loved me and made me love --
Now I am as Prometheus,
who, seeing fire, could never after forget its light
and for that, submitted to burning pain
for love of fire and love of human kind.
And, captive to its eternally mesmerizing call,
consented his liver to be consumed.
And so my heart for you.
Each ray of the setting sun that lures
my essence outside its boundaries
Each sparkle reflected on my solitary walls,
each note that calls the soul to absent itself from form
each subtle intimation of immortality --
at each my soul cries out for you,
who has captured and entranced,
plundered and bound,
myself, in love,
to you.
