This composition, which has only survived in one organ tablature (without indication of author, without text, only with text incipit) in three parts throughout, is possibly only incompletely preserved in that tablature. In our edition, the composition is arranged for two three-part choirs – the parts missing in the six-part tutti passages have been added in small engraving. A six-part setting of this text by Schütz is documented in an inventory. The authorship is still unclear and cannot be clarified without knowledge of the original composition.
