This is followed by the lush and beautiful Andante section, which depicts the thousands of miles of spectacular mountains, rivers and wildlife encountered along the route. The anticipation and thrill of reaching the Pacific Ocean (upon arriving at what is now the state of Oregon) is brought to life with a recapitulation of the opening theme, bringing the historic journey to an exciting end.
