    Beautiful writing by Chilcott

I have performed as pianist in a trio when we accompanied the Upper Voices version but the work made a great impression on both the performers and the congregation. It is beautiffuly scored, economic, and full of colour. It needs careful rehearsal, not least in the syncopations but with careful preparation the music will be most effective. Can be used in a concert but it is much better in a church settingwhere it can be supplemented with other music and liturgy to make a complete service.
