I first heard this with the Glen Ellyn Children's Choir under Doreen Rao quite a few years ago. It was beautiful then and remains so. Since that time, I have conducted it many times with children's and adult choirs. So, while it is effective with beginning choirs, it is also quite lovely for more advanced ensembles.

This is a great arangement of a great song for everyone, especially youth choirs. My granddaught is 11 yrs. old and really enjoys singing it in her area youth choir. Easy, yet difficult enough to challenge every singer of all ages. Great piano score as well. This is not just a Spiritual song, it is also a good tool for teaching voice, individual parts, close harmony and rhythm skills. There are many good choral performances to review on You-Tube.
