Bought these for my students to get away from the standard classical style of playing. The 9 songs in this book have different style rhythms from blues,rock, and boogie.This book has very basic rhythms which are a good start and a little more advanced from level 1 book, plus I have the students also add some improv. or change the note durations along with what is written to make the songs sound more lively.The Book 2 is easy to read and well organized. Songs are 1 or 2 pages in length. The songs are continued series to get into pop/blues to learn basic syncopated rhythms. Book 2 starts out with some easy songs and then gets more toward the intermediate student at the end. All 3 Levels of this series are pretty good learning books. Variety of Blues rock songs from easy to intermediate playing student. All the songs have interesting styles to them. hope this helps.
