This song symbolizes the fleetingness of life and the destiny of a man who is heading down the path of no return.Only three months after the recording, on June 24, Gardel and Le Pera perished in a plane crash in Medellin, Colombia. This tango has been covered by multiple singers, including Julio Iglesias and Il Divo.
