21 Years Without You Brass Quintet - Digital Sheet Music
This deeply personal piece for brass quintet and organ was composed in 2012 to mark 21 years since losing my father to cancer in 1991 - his favourite hymn was 'Onward Christian Soldiers', which is played very slowly in the pedals, with ever-shifting harmony above, to suggest some stability in the resulting turmoil. At times, the brass and the organ are separate and then together, culminating in a peaceful resolution. In memory of Ivor Stuart Holland (11 March 1930-5 January 1991).
