This arrangement intended for a school string orchestra offers young players an opportunity to perform this famous song, and is equally suitable for adult returners to develop their orchestral and interpretional skills. A second cello part is included. Only an elementary standard of string playing is required, although more advanced players could chose to play in higher positions to enrich their tone qualities and/or practise their technique in higher positions (eg fifth instead of first). The rich chords in this arrangement are intended for young players to appreciate harmonies other than block chords, and to test their skills in tonal balance in executing these. Equally the arrangement with its multiple tempo changes, pauses and hiatuses test young players to watch their conductor.
