Siciliano for Flute and Piano by Johann Sebastian Bach Small Ensemble - Digital Sheet Music

By Johann Sebastian Bach

Most arrangements of this Siciliano (the 2nd movement of J.S. Bach’s Sonata in E Flat for Flute and Cembalo BWV1031) repeat the first 22 bars of the original score, thus creating a more substantial piece for a concert program. This new arrangement is no exception, however the repeated section is made more interesting by reversing the roles of the flute and piano parts: the piano now plays the melodic line (along with the bass line as before) whilst the flute provides the accompanying counterpoint. Bach’s original manuscript contains no performance directions other than a fermata (pause) at the very end. All performance directions in this version are suggestions only. Therefore, included in this edition is an unedited version for performers wishing to add their own slurs, dynamics, tempo markings, etc. Check out other arrangements by Mark Reeves available as digital downloads from SheetMusicPlus.com.
