The Seal Lullaby by Eric Whitacre 4-Part - Sheet Music

By Eric Whitacre

This loving and dreamlike work captures the undulating rhythm of a mother rocking her child to sleep. The text is a classic by Rudyard Kipling: “Oh! Hush thee, my baby, the night is behind us, And black are the waters that sparkled so green. The moon, o'er the combers, looks downward to find us, At rest in the hollows that rustle between.” Magical! Available separately: SATB. Duration: ca. 4:00.

Masterpiece

This is Eric Whitacre at his best, yet not too difficult for average singers. My Community Choir is growing to love this piece. Having never been exposed to this tune before, they have grown to enjoy it very much.
