Five Pieces for Vibraphone Step-to-Step Series Book 3 by Jon Metzger Percussion Ensemble - Sheet Music

By Jon Metzger

Solos are arranged in a sequential fashion starting with the easiest in order to approach musical development through literature. Another great book in the Metzger Step-to-Step Series. This is Book III of Metzger's Step-To-Step Series subtitled, 'an approach to musical development through literature.' As with the other two books in the series for marimba and timpani, the solos are arranged in a sequential fashion starting with the easiest. The first movement experiments with long and short tones with the pedal. The second has dampening at the beginning of every bar. The third movement introduces the dead stroke and various uses of it. The fourth introduces mallet dampening and has no time signature. The fifth piece uses four mallets and pedaling is left up to the performer.
