About Scott Watson
Having composed for concert, radio and theater, Scott Watson has received recognition from the American Composers Forum, American Music Center, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, Percussice Arts Society, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia and others.
His music is described as being "imaginative" (PMEA Journal), "outstanding...with beautiful melodies and interesting harmonies" (The Instrumentalist), and "written with supreme craft" (Percussive Notes). Recent commissions include those by the Massachusetts Instrumental & Choral Conductor's Association, the American Composers Forum Continental Harmony project, the International Horn Society, and the West Chester University Wind Ensemble.
Watson holds a BS in music education (West Chester University, PA) and both MM and DMA in composition (Temple University, Philadelphia). He has taught instrumental music in the Parkland School District (Allentown, PA) for 20 years and is former Assistant Professor of Music Theory/Technology at Temple University.
