About Carlos Guastavino

Guastavino was one of the foremost Argentine composers of the 20th century. His compositions include vocal solos, song-cycles and piano pieces. His style was conservative, always tonal and lusciously romantic. Notable among his orchestral works is the ballet the Suite Argentina. His best known songs include La rosa y el sauce and Se equivoco la paloma.
