Absolutely love this songbook for our annual family caroling! Janet Day's arrangements of these classic Christmas carols are just lovely. As an adult learner, the intermediate difficulty for the SATB parts feels totally achievable, especially when singing with friends. This is an excellent selection of carols, but there are some issues with the voice leading which any theory teacher could have pointed out rather quickly, especially in octave doubling between voices.

I highly recommend this little carol book. Compact. Secular and Sacred carols. Standard hymn form. Good quality printing. I used for a gathering of musicians at my home near Christmas; worked very well for that.

Really enjoyed using this book! The size is great - easy to hold, still needed reading glasses but in dim light not too hard to see. Nice range of songs, some non-religious holiday songs too - something for everyone to enjoy. Music was not too difficult to sight read, also SATB for those who have good pitch.

After struggling with the free caroling books, our church choir used these for the first time last Sunday. They were readable, comprehensive, and easy to locate a song with an alpha index in front.

Our community singing group has used this wonderful little songbook for many years. It is especially easy to carry and share the joy of Christmas when we travel to different hospitals, shut-ins, etc. to go caroling. The selection of songs includes many favorite carols in easy arrangements, as well as some challenging less familiar ones. I highly recommend it for any singing groups who want some light music to share this Christmas.

Good resource for mostly traditional carols. Good selection of titles, already in the ear arrangements, compact size. Recommended for foundation of what most clients will prefer. Still searching for large selection like this of modern secular seasonal songs.

I would recommend this caroling book to anyone who needs some of the less popular carols, such as The Friendly Beasts or Fum, Fum, Fum or In the Bleak Midwinter; or, if you want the Kirkpatrick setting of Away in a Manger (it has the Murray setting, too). But it is in most ways inferior to Christmas in Song, which contains about twice as many songs, with better-known arrangements.Particularly I was put off by the non-traditional arrangement of O Holy Night, and by the politically correct alterations to some of the lyrics; I refer to changes such as these: for Good Christian men, rejoice they have substituted Good Christians all rejoice; and in the second verse of Joy to the World, for Let men their songs employ they've substituted Let all their songs employ. I can't abide these arrogant changes to time-honored lyrics, so I'm sticking with Christmas in Song.

This contains all of the classics. The pieces are arranged almost in alphabetical order (making it almost trivial to find pieces). Why didn't they make them all alphabetical order? The typeface is easy to read. Note that this doesn't contain a piano accompaniment (a pianist friend noted that the vocal parts as written are difficult to read on piano).
