This set has an incredible amount of Yes music. The only problem is some of the songs are abridged. There is a whole section of "Gates of Delirium" that is missing (the battle section). Other songs have similar missing sections. However, the major stuff is there and sounds good. I...

would recommend this to anyone who's had a year or two of piano and likes Yes music.

...but a decent starting point. If you are looking for a literal rendering off of the studio albums, you won't find it here in terms of faithfulness to what is played...or in terms of 'complete' works. .....With the number of very loyal musician fans (....) ....we can only look...

forward to a more comprehensive and accurate collection in the future.

  • July 08, 2005 IN-COMPLETE YES

If you're looking to strum along with your favourite Yessongs, this book may do some good. If you're looking for the magic that was Yes written in sheet music, you'll be severely disappointed. It skips most of the instrumental sections, or presents them very incompletely. This is...

NOT a book for those who wish to learn how to play Yes music the way Yes did; if you want to find out exactly what Howe played on a given part, don't expect to find it here. For such an audacious title, the book fell FAR short of my expectations.

How this can be called "Complete", i don't know - not every song is covered, and the songs that are aren't even complete! Take, for instance, the classic Close To The Edge as a perfect example - the sheet music starts with the 1st verse, misses out all the musical...

interludes and basically strips each section down to a basic supermarket music nightmare! Only the vocal sections of each song are included, rendering the whole excercise pointless. The chord shapes are useless and mostly sound awful, this is definately NOT complete nor necessarily accurate. Avoid, unless you're a holiday resort covers band.

  • April 06, 2004 Not a complete, but an excellent resourc

This covers 1969-1980 so it's ashame this has not been appendend. It's an excellent resource. You should not play the chord diagrams as gospel, but it's good starting point. I do wish songs like Heart of the Sunrise had all the riffs and motifs but it...

    does not.
