Published by Rob Bushnell (A0.752284).Released in 2015 and the theme music for the James Bond film Spectre, "Writing's on the Wall" was the first Bond theme to reach number one in the UK Singles Chart but was rather unsuccessful outside of Europe, something unusual for James Bond themes. Despite this, it won the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and an Academy Award for Best Original Song.
Sam Smith and James Napier wrote the song in under half an hour, quickly recording a demo where Smith's vocals were later used on the final release.
