Description
Big band with vocal solo - Advanced
SKU: JL.JLP-9475
By Tony Bennett with Count Basie. Edited by Dylan Canterbury and Rob DuBoff. Arranged by Neal Hefti. Jazz Vocal. Swing, Jazz. Score and parts. Published by Jazz Lines Publications (JL.JLP-9475).This Neal Hefti arrangement was recorded by Tony Bennett with Count Basie for the 1959 album Count Basie Swings/Tony Bennett Sing. This charts moves along at a mere 280 per quarter note. So, the speed alone makes this is a fun and challenging arrangement to play. There is a solo spot for tenor saxophone and brief cameo solos for trumpet and trombone. The arrangement was written for 3 trombones as that's all the Basie band had. But, for this publication an optional 4th trombone part is included. There are no saxophone doubles and the vocal key is Eb throughout.
Instrumentation: Full Score, Vocal, 2 Alto Saxophones, 2 Tenor Saxophones, Baritone Saxophone, 4 Trumpets, 4 Trombones (4th Trombone Optional), Guitar, Piano, Bass, Drums.
