  • July 06, 2014 Beautiful music

This compilation has some lovely songs. Although the flute part can be played as a solo, you have to miss large sections that are piano solos, so it's better with someone playing piano. Failing that buy the CD, you can play along with it as the score follows the...

CD quite well. Just watch out for the end as two of the songs are in a different to the CD in order to fit the musical score better. Also some songs are very fast so it's best to learn them first as you may not be able to keep up!

  • November 12, 2012 Not what I was expecting

Much of it in the low register Some of the more rhythmically-complex pieces have no articulation marks (slurs) at all! Suitable for adult amateur players, not for developing younger students

  • January 06, 2012 Winter's Crossing

This is a MARVELOUS collaboration between two greats: James Galway and Phil Coulter. Each piece is beautiful or energizing! It's a wonderful musical story of the Irish emigration from their country and their new life in America. Also, get the CD of it--it's extremely captivating!

  • November 30, 2008 Poor accompaniment for nice music

Some of the pieces are very nice for the flute, but I was disappointed by the accompaniment which seemed like it was written for a bagpipe. Usually the sum is greater than the parts, but not with this piano part. Too bad the flute part isn't written as a...

solo, but it's neither a standalone part nor combined well with the piano.
