A Rich Heffler Music arrangement. This piece begins in a plaintive manner and in turn is joined by the soloist in an extraneous Celtic-like statement. The piece continues in a somewhat straight forward manner of the tune, again in a Celtic-like style. Th.

Lovely. Sounds intricate without being difficult. Was well received at church Sunday. People specifically commented on how the piano part blended & added to the quality, instead of just providing "background notes".

I played this as an advent prelude. The arrangement is very, very nice. It took a little practice to get used to all the ornamentations and rhythms that are slightly different than what is usual for this piece, but once that was done it was very enjoyable and relaxing to...

    play. I love the accompaniment.

I love it. It took practice - but will be well worth it. I am a Mom who plays occassionally for church. I played throughout high-school but only occassionally in college. The piano accompaniment was excellent as well.

I played this for an advent offertory at my church (avg congregation size about 600) and here are some of the comments I got from fellow musicians: "That was just amazing. I've never heard a Christmas carol arrangement like that before." "It literally brought tears to my eyes." "Now...

, don't get a big head. But that was good, pretty good." (That last one made me laugh!) I rated this "Intermediate/Advanced" because the grace notes, which I think "make" the arrangement, took surprisingly long to get. It's definitely *not* one of those boring church pieces you sight read, 10 minutes before the service starts! Heffler's added refrain, which both starts and ends the piece, is poignant and haunting. I dropped the D# grace notes in the first verse, because they sounded a little too jazzy for this setting. The entire piece "reads" a lot better at a slightly slower Moderato.
