  • March 10, 2011 "...Significant composition...", W. E. Buszin

"...which enhances our relatively small store of excellent solo and choral music for church weddings..." said Buszin. A genuinely artistic composition matching the meaning of Ruth's words. Long phrases requiring good breath control make the vocal part more difficult than the counterpoint organ accomp. but a trained choir soloist...

or cantor can learn this gorgeous piece. Soloist carries the melody alone, range is one octave plus a third, the organist should buy it in at least 2 keys. Peeters also wrote an equally beautiful "Our Father" and "Ave Maria" which will also enhance any wedding service.

  • March 07, 2011 Beautiful setting of Ruth's words

Peeters' music matches the emotions in the text. The range is 1 octave plus a third, professionals can handle the vocal part easily, a trained choir member or cantor could learn it. Some long phrases requiring good breath control & the soloist has to carry the melody. Suggest an organist buy...

2 different vs, e.g. Low and High. Buszin wrote a very complimentary review of this piece [on cover page] ..."most [other] settings are sentimental"... Vocal part is difficult, organist part is medium, playing counterpoint to compliment the melody.

, it is so beautiful that it's worth the singer's time to learn it. W.E. Buszin said how outstanding this piece is among other wedding pieces. ..."harmonic purity...nobility of [text's] sentiments...most [other] settings are sentimental".... Difficult for singer, Medium for organist.

  • June 24, 2008 Gorgeous Piece!

Flor Peters creates a marvillous work highlighted a popular wedding verse. Changing from a major to minor key and eventually back to a major, this piece is a very simple work for the organ but also as a beautiful and "catchy" tune. The difficulty of this piece lies in the...

vocal part, do to the extreme range the vocalist must be able to sing. Yet, it is even harder trying to sing this and play it together. As a high tenor, this key of G Major, fits my voice quite well a I reccomend the range, too, for a low soprano soloist. But, in any event, I highly reccomend this piece for anyone who is looking for a beatiful wedding piece. Also too, note that I believe this piece also comes in a choral arrangement which sounds even better backing the organ and vocalist.
