Carl Maria von Weber, great innovator and orchestrator who paved the way for such Romantic giants as Wagner and Liszt, wrote this famous and oft-performed 'little concerto' in 1811. Lovely sonorities, beautiful themes - in short, a great piece for clarinet and orchestra. Also featured in this MMO edition, Beethoven's beautiful, warm-toned Piano Trio No. 4 is a treasure-trove of possibilities for the clarinetist. Lovely themes - young Beethoven at his best!

Includes a high-quality printed solo part for B-flat clarinet and a compact disc containing a complete version with soloist, in split-channel stereo (soloist on the right channel); then a second version in full stereo of the orchestral accompaniment, minus the soloist.

  • Piano Trio No. 4 in B-flat major, 'Street Song,' for Piano, Clarinet (or Violin) and Violoncello, op. 11  Performed by Ludwig Van Beethoven

  • August 28, 2011 Good, but some sections of Weber too slow

I think the product is fine for practice purposes. Some sections of the Weber are indeed too slow (the rest is fine). I give this four stars on the basis of the Beethoven Trio, it is delightful! It's not challenging, but it's refreshing and I enjoy playing it...

very much. For those complaining about no piano accompaniment: why buy this version then? There are literally dozens of editions with piano reduction!!

You can get by with this edition, but some of the articulations are wrong and need to be checked against a better edition.
