Walking with the Pride is programmatic in nature, but does not depict specific events. The quiet and melodic beginning paints a picture of an African morning. In the dramatic middle section, a pride of lions appear and go on a hunt. As the lions disappear into the tall grass, the opening melody returns in all its grandeur.
