    Difficulty Level:
  • September 21, 2008 Latin Jazz is "So Nice"

Nice arrangements of the songs. Having an accompaniment played by musicians makes practicing a much more enjoyable experience. I've liked all the books in this series. Each song has two CD tracks--one with the melody, and one with accompaniment only. You're on your own for the solo...

verses--they only have rhythm marks with the chord names in the music. However, repeating the melody verse solves that problem. Not all the volumes have this but this one has the English song lyrics printed at the back of the book. SPECIAL COMMENT ABOUT THE SheetMusicPlus PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: Whoever cut-and-pasted the contents list in the product description got it all wrong. The songs in this CD/music book are: Agua De Deber (Water To Drink), Invitation, Chega De Saudade (No More Blues), Watch What Happens, Sewwt Happy Life (Samba De Orpheo), The Gift! (Recado Bossa Nova), Mas Que Nada, Manha De Carnaval (A Day In The Life Of A Fool), So Nice (Summer Samba), and Ran Kan Kan.

  • June 06, 2008 Hal Leonard Rules (over Jamie) jazz playalongs

I love the Hal Leonard jazz playalongs because, unlike the Jamie Aebersold playalongs, Hal's melody lines are recognizable and rhythmically suitable for creating a great sound when learning and performing a tune. I am now playing a gig where I have to play many bossas and Latin tunes, and...

thanks to Hal, my new buddy, I am doing very well. ANNIE
