Composed by Antonio Vivaldi (1678-1741). Instrumental Solo Part and CD. Published by Music Minus One (MO.MMOCD3129).

Item Number: MO.MMOCD3129

ISBN 1596151587. Soloist: Michael Metelka, violin; Ensemble: Czech Symphony Chamber Orchestra; Conductor: Mario Klemens.

These two Vivaldi masterpieces are wonderful by any standard. The E-major concerto is from Vivaldi's well-known opus 'L'Estro Armonico' and the C-major concerto from the great 'Il cimento dell' armonia e dell'inventione' ('The Contest between Harmony and Invention'), the famous set of concerti from which the well-known 'The Four Seasons' also came. "Il Piacere" shares with "The Four Seasons" a pastoral portrait of the Lombardy countryside. This is potent Baroque music. Magical!

Includes a high-quality printed solo part and two compact discs with the complete work with soloist in split-channel stereo (soloist on right channel for easy isolation); then a second recording in full stereo of the accompaniments, minus the soloist.
