  • February 17, 2010 staple?

This piece is rather like a trip to the dentist's office in terms of necessity; it's painful, but it needs to be done (unfortunately, it's a repertoire staple). If you are looking for something to play for fun, don't buy this. If your private teacher is...

telling you to build your repertoire and you're around high school level in terms of playing ability, then buy this.

The Concerto is based on a very nice melodic structure, it starts with an Allegro Molto ma Maestoso followed by a dramatic and very nostalgic second mvt(Adagio)and finally ending with a tremendously fast third mvt that I consider very enjoyable...

  • June 14, 2007 It was very nice

This is for my state audition and i absolutely adore this piece. It has a wonderful rythm and sound and it carries on and on. My teacher and I put in so many different things with fingerings and dynamics. This is really an extrodinary piece

  • January 15, 2007 i hated this piece...

i hated this piece. i really did. my teacher then assigned me some homework. i had to write an operatic-type story that went along with the music of this piece. that made the music truly fun. so if you hate this piece, try writing a story. the first movement...

requires a firm bow grip and a good left hand as well. it is somewhat atonal... the second movement requires constant vibrato and is the least difficult. the third movement is virtuostic and is advanced. over all, a wonderful concerto. :)
