  • April 16, 2006 Perfect for all tastes

This concerto has a perfect contrast of moderato, andante, and allegro molto. The begining starts out with a dark moderato, then moves on the the darkest of the three movements the second, andante ma non troppo. Then ending with a energetic, lively third movement. This concerto has anything and everything...

to show off virtuosity. This is right up there with Bartok and Walton's concertos.

  • March 14, 2005 "This is a very energetic piece."

This viola concerto is a very lively one. The piano or orchestral accompaniment is wonderful. The most difficult of the three movements is the first one. This is a must for any advanced violist!
