Somewhere in God's Blessed Country - Australia
    Difficulty Level:
  • October 21, 2012 So many pieces are moving! Buy it!

This music is wonderful. My favourites are Qui-Gon's Funeral, Victory Celebration, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List, Somewhere in My Memory, Close Encounter of the Third Kind, and Star Wars Main Theme. With a little practice they're easy to play. Good arrangements.

  • October 10, 2011 Fun to play!!!

I was looking for a great collection of John Williams compositions, and this fit the bill! I'm a mother of five, and I don't have lots of time to spend working on tough music, so I wanted something to sit down and kind of sight read through. I...

LOVE this book. It is just challenging enough yet easy enough for me to have a lot of fun playing it. Some of the songs are quite easy, and some take a little more work for me to master. I feel like it is a great balance. It has a lot of his best songs in it, too! I was a little disappointed with the arrangement of the "Imperial March" because it isn't quite grand enough, but I love everything else. If you're looking for an easy piano book with lots of John Williams most popular movie themes, look no further!

I bought The Very Best of John Williams because of the Home Alone piece "Somewhere In My Memory". I was not disappointed! It is beautiful and easy to play. Like another reviewer, I wonder why so much Star Wars--that was disappointing. I want to share this book with my...

teacher--I think her one-two year students will have no trouble with most songs. I like the paper used in this book--not too crisp and it lays well enough on the piano. Schindlers List needed a better introduction--too short.

  • March 21, 2009 My Favorite to Play by Far

I live for John Williams music and when I saw this it was a "must have"! I have enjoyed learning the various pieces in this book. Simple enough for me to not get frustrated, but hard enough to make me practice to fully learn it. The only thing that bothers...

me is that half the book is strictly Star Wars. I would have wanted some other songs instead.
