  • January 22, 2012 Not Bad at All ....

I like it. Other reviewer's have expressed dissatisfaction with the songs not being on the CD in the same order as they are in the book. This hasn't bothered me, as there is a directory in the book listing the song order. The background tracks are good, with...

a "full" sound to them. I am playing these on a valve-trombone, and have had no issues at all with the music or the "playability" of the songs on my horn. Others have stated that they are difficult to play on a standard tenor horn, and not a bass t-bone.

Great songs, decent arrangements Tho not the way Sinatra did them. Mr. Roberts performances are all grouped together and the orchestra-only parts are nine bands away. It maybe his style of phrasing, but the performer doesn't give half or whole notes their full duration.

  • April 23, 2009 Great Songs, Great Accomp. Poor publication planning

I really enjoy playing these arrangements. They are simple and easy to follow. Great for enternaining. The back-up tracks beat the dickens out of the usual midi base stuff that we get so often. The only down side to the whole packet is that the order of the music...

in the book does not match the order on the CD. Your choices are to either fumble with pages, or make working copies of the music and assemble your own book.

  • May 31, 2008 Piece order

I do have a problem. The order of the pieces on the CD does not agree with the order of the pieces in the printed booklet. It makes it difficult to play through without fumbling with pages

  • December 22, 2007 good arrangments

The pages are all mixed up compared to what is on the disc. The solo instrumentalist is excellent and this disc also makes for an enjoyable CD purchase with his playing. He takes more liberties with the music (of which he does a great job) but it may throw you...

if you are trying to keep strictly to the music and if you play along with him. It is best to listen to him play first, then play the disc with your instrument without him.
