    Pella, IA
    Difficulty Level:
  • September 28, 2012 Excellent, But Largely Duplicated Elsewhere

This is an excellent collection of studies for the intermediate to advanced guitarist. It may not be worth purchasing if you already own a copy of Frederick Noad's 100 Graded Classical Guitar Studies, which contains fifteen of the twenty studies in this volume; only studies 1 (Op. 6, No...

. 8), 5 (Op. 35, No. 22), 6 (Op. 35, No. 17), 17 (Op. 6, No. 11), and 18 (Op. 29, No. 22) in this volume are not included in Noad's book. On the other hand, this book includes a CD with performances of all twenty studies, while Noad's book does not include a CD (at least it didn't when I acquired mine).

    Fogelsville, PA
    Difficulty Level:
  • December 06, 2005 Excellent Works, Enjoyable

Fernando Sor: Twenty Studies for the Guitar is an excellent collection of classical music. I enjoy playing these selections whenever possible. I would not recommend these for someone just starting out, but with a little experience and practice they are very enjoyable to play.
