I got this book because I really wanted to play these songs and it was worth trying to get myself better at piano to meet that end. Well unfortunately the piano was mostly too hard for me but I got a lot from the chords to the songs. Like the...

jazz chords. They were nice and I will definitely use them in future, either in bluesy turnarounds or just anywhere. Enjoy the book! PS It is pretty exact to the actua; version I would say :)

  • June 26, 2007 Great detail and accuracy

I really appreciate the effort taken in the transcription of this collection. It's very accurate and includes pieces of solo lines (not the extended solos, but the smaller more melodic ones.) Very well done collection.

  • November 14, 2005 Good for chords only

Granted, this book doesn't have very well-written out arrangements, but if you like improvising on piano based on the chords at the top of the lines, you'll be satisfied. I simply go by the guitar chords listed and have a lot of fun with Jamie's music...

. If you can't interpret chord symbols very well, you might not get a lot out of this book.

While I am a huge fan of Jamie Cullum, I am definetly not a huge fan of the "arranged" songbook put out by Hal Lenord. Maybe if all you wanted to do was play the piano part and NOT sing along this would be great, but if you want to...

sing with the music, you get a very flat fake sound. This is because most of the right-hand piano part is the melody, the vocal line, which Jamie never plays in the actual song. Therefore we have a very poorly produced songbook that is good for essentially nothing. I wanted to play "I Get A Kick Out Of You" for my variety show, but now I have to learn every single one of the chords during "I get a kick every time I see you..." because they're NOT IN THE BOOK. My advice, I heard that a better one is coming out. Wait, DO NOT get this.
