Published by Sonic Crossroads (S0.19096).This is an arrangement for woodwind quintet of Alnar's Eight Piano Pieces. Hasan Ferit Alnar (1906-1978) was one of the first Turkish composers trained in Western classical music and was also a recognized composer and performer of Ottoman classical music. This set is much like a Suite of songs and dances based on Turkish folk tunes and composed in approximations of various makams (modes). The document includes a list of titles with instrumentation and a sheet of notated makams as they are found in the pieces. Score and parts. 67 pp.
