SKU: S0.53435

Composed by Francis Poulenc. Arranged by John Gibson. 20th Century. Score,Set of Parts. 17 pages. Published by JB Linear (S0.53435).

Three short pieces by Francis Poulenc set for flute quartet by John Gibson. These pieces were written in 1918 and have remained popular. They were published in 1919 and were used by Poulenc in other versions later in life. This version is from the 1919 publishing. The three movements are light and full of Poulenc's typical turns of phrase even though he was not even 20 years of age at the time. They also show the humor he shared with his teacher, Satie. For flute quartet (3 flutes and 1 alto flute with an alternate 4th flute if no alto is available). The music is not too difficult, but be ready to change to a new key without notice!
