This is a wonderful piece of music in every way. If you are an advanced (and I do mean advanced) pianist, this will give you, and yout technique, a real workout. Be warned, this is an 11 out of 10 for diffuculty, and it is the solo piano version. This...

edition is very good, clear, and easy to read. If you have a demonic soul you are going to love every diabolical chord of this. Enjoy.

Fantastic piece, definitely worth playing, but monstrously difficult.

  • September 04, 2006 Break the piano-strings!

Amazing piece of work - quite a work-out for the fingers! Be forewarned: not only will you need the advanced technique to get through most of the work but you will also need a piano that can handle the torrential chords. Unfortunately, my upright has suffered numerous broken strings and...

is not quite up to the demanding nature of this work. The better action and strength of the grand provides for a better sound rather. A spectacular concert piece once mastered.

  • July 22, 2005 Beware! piano solo version

I agree about with the German pianist about the high quality of this work. One word of warning: this is the rarely performed SOLO version of this piece. If you buy this score, you CANNOT play it with orchestra, as they are different works... Beware! Requires incredible physical endurance to...

play this version. The orchestral version is much easier!

For the serious pianist out there, I recomend you put your Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninoff concertos aside and consider this masterpiece. One of the literature's best.
