Claude Debussy was a real Impressionist, as he said himself: ‘nothing is more musical than a ray of sunlight’. Besides orchestral music like ‘Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune’, ‘La Mer’ and ‘Pelléas et Melisande’ he wrote a number of songs as well. Dutch arranger Erik Somers transcribed three of Debussy’s most beloved songs for Soprano and Wind Ensemble: ‘Paysage sentimental’, ‘Pierrot’ and ‘ La Belle au Bois dormant’.
