  • April 10, 2009 Good, but fingerings make difficult

The copy I ordered had large print, which made it easy to read. However, it had violin fingerings marked all over it. As an oboeist, i found it difficult to write in what i needed for my personal use. Also, it came with the clarinet part which I will never...

be able to use, as I dont play the clarinet. It would be helpful if there were a copy JUST for oboeists without violin fingerings, and just the music in the key of C, with the piano accompaniment.

  • April 25, 2008 3 Nice Solos for Clarinet in A and Piano

Schuman wrote some interesting material here. Practicing them separately may leave you wondering how on earth to interpret them, but when done together each part seems to flow with and support the other; the result is glorious.

  • March 04, 2008 Great and fun piece!

Schumann's 3 Romances are beautiful and fun to play. They take a lot of endurance, but it is worth it. I would recommend this piece for my lesson students and any other oboe player.

  • January 28, 2008 simply beautiful

This is my favorite piece to listen to and perform of all time. I did it for my junior recital in college, and played it for Thomas Stacy of the NY Phil at a master class. You do need to get your lips in shape, but this peice gives so...

many opportunities for expression, it is worth it.

  • June 07, 2004 Pretty Difficult

Romance #1, is very difficult if your lips tire out too quickly(I learned the hard way)! So, do long tones everyday for a month before the preformance of this piece. Romance #2, very beautiful! Middle section is difficult if you listen to the piano part. It is the oboes...

duplet beats against the pianos tripolet beats!
