SKU: A0.926230

Composed by Christian McNally. Contemporary. Score and parts. 18 pages. Christian McNally #33023. Published by Christian McNally (A0.926230).

"There's No 'I' in it" was written to visually show the main requirement of working in a percussion section. Team work. With all players sharing each others instruments the piece seeks to emulate the close proximity sometimes required of percussionists and the need for the whole team to work together. The spectacle is added to by a rhythmic heartbeat which is continuously thrown between each player. Each player is also given their own chance to shine with a solo section which is supported by their colleagues sharing a single instrument. Written for 4 players, each with a Snare Drum, a cymbal and 2 tom toms (which are shared with the others players) and a single floor tom which all players play at the same time. For intermediate/advanced players this piece is ideal for the older more experienced members of youth percussion ensembles.
