  • December 03, 2008 Loved this book as a youth and still do !

I was pulling out my own old copy of this from the 60's for some of my students to use. I was thrilled to see that it was still available ! My students think it is cool that the cover and contents of their new books are the same as...

mine. The arrangements are very good and give a fine feeling for the originals. Sometimes the kids and I compare the latter with the "Themes." They are so happy to be able to play parts of the beautiful concertos at their own level. Just this week one chose the Grieg to work on and another the Schumann.

I am so thrilled with the many piano concerto music books I've ordered from you. Please, please continue buying more if you can. I just love MacDowell's piano concertos and you had my favorite in this book. Thank you.

  • May 25, 2007 Tried and True

I had this book in the late 50's. I loved it. It got me familiar with piano concertos at a very young age. I found it in my music library recently and looked it up to see if it was still in publication. Bingo. Simplified versions without losing the...

essence of the piece. I went on to learn the actual versions of some of these pieces when I was more advanced.

I have enjoyed this book since I received it from my piano teacher in the 60's!! Great selection of classic themes that sound great, but aren't too difficult.
