Published by Kristine Johanek (A0.707890).This version of The Star Spangled Banner is written for two octave bells (handbells, hand chimes or tone chimes) with piano accompaniment and solo trumpet melody line. (Although The Star Spangled Banner is usually written in the key of Ab, this version is written in the key of G, so it is a half step lower, and means the trumpet part is written in the key of A.) The bell part uses 18 bells from a standard two octave set, and plays a chordal descant part over the soloist. The piano part mirrors the melody line, while adding a few tasteful flourishes. This would be an excellent way to feature a soloist with your bell players. This product includes a score with all parts and the trumpet part written out separately. Bell parts may be duplicated from the score for members of the ensemble.
