For the Organist: This arrangement of "The Rose," works well for the organ! Easy on the principals as we are not leading a congregation in song. No reeds, flutes and strings really fit this song much better, they are more mellow. Here's the registration I like: Swell: 8' Flute...

, 8' Salicional (string), 8' Gemshorn Celeste (string), 4' Flute, 2' Flute Great: 8' Principal, 4' Flute, 2 2/3' Flute (optional) Pedal: 16' Principal, 16' Flute, 8' Flute (optional) Tremulant/tremolo: Medium (first two verses), Fast on to the end. Omit the pedal until, "I say love," in the middle of page three. Pedal as you wish after that point. Doing this creates interest. Note: All organs vary on design and registration. A medium tremulant really should be used even if a full/fast tremulant isn't utilized. The "straight," sound no matter the registration on this song can be a bore. The organ should, in actual effect, "sing."

  • February 22, 2008 Good for a sing-a-long

This piece was sung by about 130 people at a memorial service and worked well. People found the song beautiful and meaningful and it was the deceased's favorite song. The vocal range was easy for most people to sing.

This sheet music is such a beautiful arrangement and is written in such a way that the pianist or guitarist can easily achieve a beautiful presentation. I performed this at a recent wedding and it went over great! I also sent the music to my 17-year-old granddaughter. I...

would recommend this sheet music to any early intermediate or above musician.
