Take twelve contemporary worship songs and classic hymns, add a touch of Smooth Jazz styling, and you've got a recipe for a fresh, invigorating approach to blended instrumental worship. Drawing upon his background as a professional woodwind musician and over 20 years in local church music ministry, Mark McClure has created arrangements designed to augment an instrumentalist's own worship experience as he connects with his audience or congregation. The Power of Your Love is perfect for church services, instrumental solo competitions or special events. Experience Mark's Smooth Jazz stylings on soprano sax, alto sax and flute with the companion listening CD (available separately). The instrumental folio is constructed with the soloist in mind, including a separate ?solo-only? part that can be pulled out of the center of the book, allowing each song to be played without page turns. The arrangements may be performed with piano and optional rhythm section using the chords in the book, or with the included stereo accompaniment CD. Orchestrations are available for several of the songs (see for more details).

I can say that I found some of the selections to be beautiful, but I must also say that they don't seem to be sax- orriented, but rather, generic-type orchestrations, transposed into the respective keys. I also think that a better format would be book w/ demo & play...

-along track for less/ separate optional piano accompaniment. This would avoid having the person who just wants the play-along paying for something he'll never use.
