Ginastera was a great composer who brought a Latin American flare to his music. My favorite piece in this collection is his first piano sonata.

    Difficulty Level:
  • February 28, 2007 Challenging pieces, good edition

These are great pieces, strongly rhythmic in character, ranging in difficulty from challenging to extremely difficult (Royal Conservatory of Music level 10-ARCT). Tremendously energetic pieces, and very impressive to play. The most difficult aspect of these pieces is the speed of the jumps required. My favourite is the "Suite...

de danzas criollas." There are some notes about the composer, and notes by the composer about the sonatas, but nothing extensive about performance. The engraving is clear and legible.
